• Research Authorization Request

    Thank you for your interest in the possibility of conducting your research with the Sweetwater Union High School District (SUHSD). Within 3-5 days after submitting a proposal, you will receive a response. If you have any questions about this process, please contact Dr. Jesus Ulloa-Higuera at (619) 796-7600 or email at jesus.ulloa-higuera@sweetwaterschools.org. If approved SUHSD must receive a copy of all findings and publications affiliated with any research conducted within SUHSD.

  • Research may be conducted provided it meets the following criteria:

    1. The perceived results of the research effort would be of direct and significant benefit to the students and instructional programs of the district.
    2. The research design has been presented to and approved by the superintendent or his/her designee and all research instruments, including but not limited to questionnaires, surveys, and interview forms, have been submitted to and approved by the Superintendent or his/her designee.
    3. No test, questionnaire, survey, or examination containing any questions about the student's personal beliefs or practices in sex, family life, morality, and religion, or any question about the student parents' or guardians' beliefs and practices in sex, family life, morality, and religion, shall be administered unless the parent or guardian of the student is notified in writing that the test, questionnaire, survey or examination is to be administered and gives written permission, survey, or examination. 
    4. A copy of the final research result, including analysis and conclusions, shall be presented to the Superintendent. 
    5. The Board shall have the right to refuse publication rights if it believes that the research was not carried out according to the highest standards of research, that the analysis and/or conclusions presented a biased or incorrect position, or that the research was not carried out according to the approved research design.

  • By submitting this application to conduct a research study within the Sweetwater Union High School District (SUHSD), the applicant hereby agrees to share the final outcomes of the research with the District.

    Upon completion of the study, the applicant agrees to provide SUHSD with a comprehensive copy of the final study results and findings. Furthermore, this commitment includes, but is not limited to, delivering a presentation to corresponding SUHSD personnel, stakeholders, or designated committees to ensure the District can effectively review, understand, and benefit from the study's insights.
